Tibor Kokai

Senior Advisor

Tibor, a leading structural engineer in Canada, collaborates with renowned architects globally, specializing in residential, commercial, and institutional projects. His expertise encompasses reinforced and post-tensioned concrete design, finite element analysis, advanced structural steel systems, and seismic analysis for tall structures. As an intellectual property holder with the University of Toronto, he developed the viscoelastic coupling dampers (VCD-s) for controlling motion in tall buildings during wind and earthquakes.


Holdings include a master’s degree in Structural Engineering and a Ph.D. from the Technical University of Budapest. Tibor co-authored the Concrete Design Handbook and contributed to the CSA A23.3 Design of Concrete Structures for almost two decades. He’s a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, recognized for distinguished achievements and contributions, nominated and elected by peers for advancing the engineering profession.
